Gina Hartmann - Sentiments, Oct. 15 - Dec. 6

The Lane Community College Art Gallery is proud to present the exhibition, Sentiments by Portland artist, Gina Hartmann.

Gina Hartman is a working artist living in Portland, Oregon.  Originally from Cincinnati, Ohio, she has made her way to Portland after living briefly in California, New York, England.  She is a well-known sculptor, writer and multimedia artist known for traditional forms and exhibit ecosystems.

“My work has moved from the personal to the universal within the exploration of my individual vision. There is a consistent theme found in the work: a conviction to convey our relationships to ourselves, each other, and to the world. In essence, the human condition. Despite diversities in cultures we all feel, breathe and search for that which will ultimately provide us sustenance. There is a need to share with others that heightened awareness; our humanity, if just for one moment.”

The show runs from October 15th through December 6th. A lecture will take place on Thursday, October 25th, beginning at 3:00 with a reception immediately following. The lecture and reception are free and open to the public. The gallery is located in building 11 on the main campus of Lane Community College, 4000 E. 30th Avenue. There is no charge for admission. The Art and Applied Design Department phone number is 541-463-5409.
