Spirited Journey: Women Artists - February 22 - March 21

Maude Kerns Art Center presents Spirited Journey: Women Artists from February 22 to March 22. The exhibit features work by Kathleen Caprario, on the art faculty at LCC, Bets Cole, Annette Furdjian, Wendy Huhn, and Betsy Wolfston. The opening reception will be on Friday, February 22, 6:00-8:00 pm.

Kathleen writes in her Artist Statement, titled Confluence, "The paintings presented are part of a series initiated at a month-long artist residency at the Jentel Foundation in Northeast Wyoming; the beautifully rugged and ever-changing landscape of the area served as both observational and conceptual inspiration. ... The process of reflective spontaneity evidenced in the work suggests a confluence -- those areas being transition zones between control and chaos."

The Maude Kerns Art Center is located at 1910 East 15th Avenue in Eugene. Gallery hours are M-F, 10:00 am - 5:30 pm, Saturday 12:00-4:00 pm. For information: (541) 345-1571 or http://www.mkartcenter.org/.
