23 Sandy Gallery is pleased to present artist books by Eugene artist Susan Lowdermilk. An art instructor at Lane Community College, Susan is both a print maker and a book artist working primarily in relief media such as woodcut and wood engraving. Her artist books utilize abstract marks and objects as visual metaphors or allegories to explore tenuous qualities of human interaction, struggles and experience. Her artist books appear in many public collections including the Getty Museum, the Library of Congress and the New York Public Library. There will be a reception for Susan on First Thursday, July 3, 2008, 6:00-9:00 p.m. The show will run July 3-August 2, 2008. Gallery hours are Thursday- Saturday, Noon to 6:00 p.m.
