The Lane Community College Art Gallery is proud to present "Cerebral Spaces" a collective body of work by Salem artist Jessica Burke. The exhibition consists of paintings that reflect on the stream of consciousness chronicling the evolving definition of "acceptable" femininity within the spectrum of gender.
Burke states, "The images I create explore this conceptual construction through the environments that surround the figure. Theses environments represent a cerebral space that underscores the gender performance as the focal point of the work."
The show runs from November 16th through December 3rd. An Artist Lecture will be held on November 19th at 2:00pm with a reception immediately following.
The gallery is located in building 11 on main campus, 4000 E. 30th Avenue in Eugene, Oregon. There is no charge for admission. The Art and Applied Design Department phone number is 463-5409. http://www.lanecc.edu/artgallery/
The image is titled Somebody Lied to Me.
