Student Salon Des Refuses - April 12 - May 7

The Salon Des Refuses features works of art that were not included in the Juried Student Art Show now on display in the Gallery in Building 11. The works are in the new LASA (Lane Art Student Association) Gallery in Building 16, the Math and Science Building.

There will be a reception on April 22 at 3:00 pm and awards will be given at that time.

LASA meets on Wednesdays at 2:30 pm in the alcove in Building 11. This time is for committee business, hanging out, or making art. Contact: Mildred Crow or the Art Department office, 541.463.5409.

LCC Juried Student Art Show - April 12 - 29


LCC Art Gallery is proud to present the Juried Student Art Show. This exhibition will be held from April 12th to April 29th. There will be a reception on Thursday, April 22nd from 3:00pm to 4:00pm.

The LCC Juried Student Art Show is an exhibition showcasing the best of our current LCC art students. All the work on display has been created by our students during the 2009 - 2010 academic year. We encourage the community to come and support our local artists.

The show runs from April 12th through April 29th. The gallery is located in building 11 on main campus, 4000 E. 30th Avenue. There is no charge for admission.

Faculty Art Exhibition at the Airport Gallery


Lane Community College Faculty Art Exhibition "a show on the go..." will be on display at The Gallery at the Eugene Airport during April, May and June of 2010. The exhibition features art by faculty in the Art and Applied Design Department in a variety of medium such as oil painting, watercolor, ceramics, sculpture, photography, and printmaking.

The Gallery at the Airport is a permanent space for exhibitions of visual art and artifacts reflecting the the artistic and cultural resources of the region. The focus has been on presenting original work of local and regional artists. The Gallery is located on the second floor landing of the Eugene Airport terminal building. http://www.flyeug.com/

High School Art Show - March 29 - April 9

The Lane Art Gallery is proud to present our Fifth Annual High School Art Show. This show is an invitational to area high schools in Lane County to share with our community, their young and upcoming art students. Along with the two-week exhibition, students who participate are eligible for awards and scholarships. The show runs from March 29 to April 9. An evening reception is being held on April 1 from 5:30-7:00 p.m.

The gallery is located in Building 11 on the LCC main campus at 4000 East 30th Avenue, Eugene, Oregon. There is no charge for admission. Contact: Art and Applied Design at 541.463.5409.

Robert Adams - "Landscapes" at Goldworks in March

Robert Adams, LCC art instructor, is having a solo art show throughout March at Goldworks Jewelry Art Studio. The theme of the show is "Landscapes from the Vermont Studio Center," where Adams had a residency in the fall of 2009, assisted by travel funding from the Art department.

The opening reception will be Friday March 5th, 4:30 to 7:30 pm, and is a stop on on the First Friday Artwalk. Adams will be there to talk about the work, with Kate Ali, LCC sculpture instructor, who is leading the art walk. There will also be wine tasting by the Sineann Winery that evening.

Kristie Potwora - Chance to Flourish Exhibit at OSU


Kristie Potwora, silk screening instructor at Lane, will have her work shown in "Chance to Flourish: Private, Public, and Wild Gardens" an invitational show at the Giustina Art Gallery in the LaSells Stewart Center on the campus of Oregon State University. The show runs from March 1-30, with an Artists' Reception on March 17 at 6-8 pm.

The show is sponsored by the College of Agricultural Sciences. Thirty-five artists who are represented in the College’s Art About Agriculture permanent collection were invited to submit one recent work of art relevant to the garden theme of the show. Graphic Design 2nd Year Applicants Session

An important Q & A session for students applying for the 2nd year Graphic Design Program will be held on Friday, March 5, 12:00-1:30 pm. This is a very important opportunity to find out everything you need to know, pick up the appropriate paperwork, ask direct questions to faculty, and find out deadlines. Please try to attend if you are thinking about applying.

Here are the pertinent details:
When: Friday, March 5, 12- 1:30 PM
Where: Building 18, room 201
What: Q & A session about admission process into the the second year of the Graphic Design Program
Who: Multiple members of the GD faculty will be on hand to inform and answer questions.
Why: Applying to the program requires an application, an essay and a portfolio, with more than one deadline. The portfolios need to have particular things represented as well as an assignment specific to the application process. Learning as much as you can about the process will only help your chances of getting accepted!
