Collagraph Printmaking Workshop, Feb. 13-14


Jody Dunphy, an artist and printmaker, will offer a Collagraph Printmaking Workshop on February 13-14 (Saturday and Sunday), 9:00 am - 4:00 pm in the LCC Printmaking Studio.

The workshop is open to all levels, beginning to advanced. In this workshop you will explore collagraph - a hybrid intaglio/relief process characterized by a rich, organic image quality. It is an exciting process suitable for beginners and for experienced printmakers. During this workshop, participants will experiment with the medium while creating a series of prints.

Rob Adams - Museum of Unfine Art

Rob Adams, instructor of basic design and drawing, is showing his work at the Museum of Unfine Art. Adams' painting "The Long March" is a reflection on China-Pacific Northwest connections. The painitng, mixed media on canvas, is part of a group retrospective exhibit of artists featured over the last decade. The exhibit runs through January 31. The Museum of Unfine Art is located at 537 Willamette St. in Eugene., Oregon

Cheryl Coon - Bestiary Exhibit - January 4-28

The Lane Community College Art Gallery is proud to present Bestiary, a collective body of work by San Francisco artist Cheryl Coon. The show runs from January 4 through 28. An artist lecture will be held on January 11 at 11 a.m. with a reception immediately following.

The exhibition consists of artist books that draw their central ideas from primordial images, archetypes, ancient rituals and texts, folklore and mythology. Coon states, “I try to investigate the spiritual and the mysterious, patterns in nature versus chaos. So I try to create a space to contemplate the mysterious – everything from the sublimely beautiful to the ridiculously humorous.”

The gallery is located on the first floor of building 11 on main campus. There is no charge for admission. Hours are 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays, and 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. on Fridays. Contact: Art and Applied Design, 463-5409.

Gabriella Soraci - Exhibit at Chemeketa Community College, January 11 - February 5, 2010

Gabriella Soraci will have paintings in a two-person show, 'Early One Morning' at the Art Gallery at Chemeketa Community College in Salem, Oregon, January 11-February 5. Soraci, who teaches painting and drawing at Lane Community College and the University of Oregon in Eugene, Oregon, will exhibit her paintings with Jodie Raborn, who teaches at Willamette University.

The Art Gallery is located in Building 2, on the campus of Chemeketa Community College, Building 3, 400 Lancaster Dr. NE. An Opening Reception will be held on January 13 from noon to 2:00 pm. Contact: 503.399.6165.

Gabriella Soraci - Exhibit at Red Mountain Gallery, Reno, Nevada, December 1 - January 31

Gabriella Soraci will exhibit 18 paintings at the Red Mountain Gallery at Truckee Meadows Community College in Reno, Nevada. The show runs from December 1, 2009 to January 29, 2010.

'Soraci's still life paintings describe both the tangible world of everyday reality and the intangible world of the mind. Using formal investigations of color, light, shape, plastic, and decorative space, she selects various objects and elements of landscape that can offer aesthetic emotion.' She is an instructor of drawing and painting at Lane Community College and the University of Oregon, both in Eugene, Oregon.

J.S. Bird - Holiday Art Sale - December 12-13

J.S. Bird announces his First Annual Holiday Art Sale on December 12 -13. "Give a gift that lasts a lifetime." The sale is on Saturday, December 12, 12 - 5:00 pm and Sunday, December 13, 11 am - 2:00 pm. The location is 501 N. 1st Street in Creswell, Oregon.
