Surface.(ed) - Eric Schultz and Anna Stehle - May 2-19

The Lane Community College Art Gallery is proud to present “surface.(ed)”, a two-person show featuring artists and Lane Community College Studio Technicians, Eric Schultz and Anna Stehle. Eric Schultz works in the sculpture studio and Anna Stehle works in the ceramics studio within the Department of Art and Applied Design. The exhibition consists of both sculpture and ceramics, along with installation work.
The show runs from May 2nd to May 19th. A lecture featuring both artists will be held on May 19th at 3:00 pm with a closing reception immediately following.

The gallery is located in building 11 on main campus, 4000 E. 30th Avenue in Eugene, Oregon. There is no charge for admission. The Art and Applied Design Department phone number is 463-5409.

Crossroads - Student Art Competition

Crossroads, the 25th annual League for Innovation Student Art Competion is now open for submissions. Entry forms are available in the Art office; drop off your art in the Art office, Bldg. 11/101, between 8 am-5 pm, April 28 or 29. The deadline for submissions is Friday, April 29.

Lane Community College Mentor - Student Exhibition

The Lane Community College Mentor - Student Exhibition is at the Gallery at the Airport during April, May, and June 2011. The exhibition features a pair of artwork by a faculty member in the Art & Applied Design Department and a student they have mentored.

Juried Student Art Exhibition - April 11-28

LCC Art Gallery is proud to present the Juried Student Art Exhibition. This exhibition will be held from April 11th to April 28th. There will be a reception on Thursday, April 21st from 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm. The reception is free and open to the public.
 

The LCC Juried Student Art Show is an exhibition showcasing the best of our current LCC art students. Our students have created all the work on display during the past academic year.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank this year’s jurors, Philip Dunn of Welcome Home Loans, of Eugene, Oregon and his wife Kimberly. Philip is a collector of contemporary of art and Kimberly hold an MFA from the University of Oregon and is a practicing artist.

We encourage the community to come and support our local artists.

Rearrangement: Art & Text, April 1-23

The Oregon Arts Alliance current exhibit, Rearrangement: Art & Text: examining the aesthetics of fonts, letters, and words in contemporary art runs from April 1-23, 2011.  The exhibit opening is part of the First Friday Art Walk, April 1, 5:30-8:00 pm.  Susan Lowdermilk, instructor of graphic design, book arts, printmaking, and typography in the Art & Applied Design Department and Claire Dannenbaum, reference librarian at LCC, have work in this exhibit.

Notice: Photography and Filming of Students and Art Work

Notice to Art Division students concerning the non-commercial use of films and/or photos:

Lane Community College is a learning-centered community college committed to providing lifelong educational opportunities for its students.

Students who enroll in performance art, graphic art, media art or fine arts classes in the College’s Art Division may be filmed and/or photographed as a result of their participation in those classes. The filming or photography of students is for academic and classroom purposes only and is restricted to films and photos taken by Lane Community College students, staff and faculty only. THE RESULTING PRODUCTS MAY NOT BE USED FOR COMMERCIAL PURPOSES. 

Any film, photography or videos produced from LCC Art Division classes and/or events may be used only for instructional purposes and/or for promotion of those activities by the College, in support of its mission.

Student works may also be filmed and/or photographed, will be considered for public display and may be used for instruction and/or promotion of the College or College programs and events. Students who register for the art division classes, by their registration in such classes, authorize the College to use their images for College instruction and/or promotion of the College’s mission.

Permission must be granted by individual instructors to take photographs of or to film classrooms.

6th Annual High School Art Show - March 28-April 8

The Lane Community College Art Gallery is proud to present our 6th Annual High School Art Show. This show is an invitational to area high schools in Lane County to share with our community, their young and upcoming art students.

Along with the 2-week exhibition students who participate are eligible for awards and scholarships. Karl Brantley and Lincoln Financial of Eugene will be sponsoring this year’s exhibition.

The show runs from March 28th to April 8th. An evening reception is being held on March 31st from 5:30 to 7:30 pm.
